Trust Center

Simple policies you can actually understand.

WHODIS is designed around fair outcomes and clear billing. We avoid dark patterns and monthly subscription traps.

Solved-result policy

We bill for completed solves. If a lookup cannot be completed under our policy conditions, we document the outcome clearly and review support requests fairly.

Transparent billing

Charges are disclosed before payment confirmation. No hidden line items, no surprise recurring monthly plans, and no auto-renew traps.

Privacy & ethics summary

We only use relevant data to provide lookup results, protect abuse, and maintain service integrity. We do not design our product to pressure users into recurring payments.

How Mobstopping Board scoring works

Each number on the Mobstopping Board gets a 0–100 community estimate, shown as a band: Few spam signals (0–24), Suspicious (25–49), Likely spam (50–74) or Very likely spam (75–100). It is a community estimate, not proof. Caller ID can be spoofed.

  • Minimum evidence. A number is scored only once at least 2 different people report it, or government complaints are on file. Until then it shows “Not enough reports yet”.
  • Community reports (up to 45 points). One report per person counts. A report from someone who looked the number up counts 3×, a signed-in report 1.5× and an anonymous report 0.5×. A report’s weight halves every 30 days. A spam mark confirmed by a paid lookup adds 10 points inside the 45-point cap.
  • Government complaints (up to 35 points). FTC Do Not Call and FCC complaints about the number, with a small bonus when they come from several states. The agencies do not verify these complaints.
  • Recency (up to 10 points). 10 points if the newest report is within 7 days, 6 within 30 days, 3 within 90 days.
  • Report types (up to 10 points). Based on the categories people pick (for example government impersonation or robocall), never on free-text notes.
  • Agreement check. “Very likely spam” (75+) needs community reports and government complaints to agree, or at least 8 different reporters with 3 signed in. Otherwise the score is held at 74.

Duplicate, burst and hidden reports do not count. Owner names and addresses are never shown on free pages.
